A Weekend Away

Well friends, we are feeling much better around here.
Our coughs are lessening, and our fevers are all but a memory at this point. Thank goodness!

We werent sure if we would be able to attend our annual getaway to Niagara Falls, Ontario when last Friday came.
We had been feeling awful for three days at that point but our son couldnt stop talkign about the potential trip with such excitement.  Every year my husbands work has a conference there and every year we happily tag along. We knew we had to make it work. I figured sitting feeling unwell in a hotel room with a view was better then sitting feeling unwell at home with no view.

So Friday evening we left for our mini vacation. Miraculously, as soon as we got to the Hotel we all felt better!!
Just in time to take in the gorgeousness from our giant window!
The kids couldnt get enough of the view!!
We took a tour of the hotel (The Marriott) and took in all of their beautiful Christmas decorations! The kids went crazy over intitially seeing the Christmas tree!
They may have raced up these stairs for a good ten minutes.
What is a Mama to do when she needs to get out all of their extra energy? I wasnt complaining either seeing as they had been so lethargic for the last few days. It was nice to see them having fun!!!
We went for a dip in the pool to cool off. 😉
This is our favourite part about staying in a hotel.
My daughter, the budding fashionista, can really pull off the whole boots and bathing suit combo, no?
We broke all the rules and jumped from the hot tub to the pool and back again. It was pretty awesome.
Our favourite babysitters came to visit! My sister and her fiance babysat our three crazies so the hubby and I could attend his work banquet dinner.
Two hours of baby free quietness. The silence was lovely but silence is also over rated. It was fun to come back to the full out dance party that was going down in our hotel suite. Complete with bed bouncing, empty pizza boxes and karata moves. I love our crazies.
They might be a lot to handle, but they are worth it. So happy to see those smiles back!!
We woke up to record breaking highs! It was 19 degrees and gorgeous! Such a perfect day for a little stroll, to take in a great wonder and to spend time as a family.
Our kids love Niagara Falls and it is such fun to live a few hours away from such a world wonder. If you havent been, you must go at least once. It is so breathtaking.
People always ask us why we bring the kids everywhere, instead of escaping for some romance. Honestly, I couldn’t imagine NOT having them with us for these memories. When you have babies you learn quickly to find love in the little things. Like having your husbands arm around you tightlyfor a picture and the still before the babies wake up from their hotel beds. The little things.
These cuties hung around to make more memories and to help us keep all of the children safe.
Apparently we needed an extra eye…or two…

Travelling with kids can be challenging, but it is also these times that they will talk about for the next six months with smiles on their little faces.

And that makes us so happy too. 🙂

I hope your son is feeling better soon! The croup? So yucky. Little kids shouldnt get sick, poor babies.
You should see the Falls at least once, it will be worth your trip. Since we dont live too far away we go quite often, the kids love it! Last year we went on a boat that takes you soooo close to the falls. The kids were terrified BUT loved it!!!

    feel better!
