Plate Wall LOVE

Sometimes I wonder if I was born in the wrong era.
I would totally be satisfied wearing cute aprons and being all around domesticated for my “leave-it-to-Beaver”-imaginary-family.
I could listen to Louis Armstrong type jazz music all day, wear dresses, make every meal from scratch while rocking pompadour hairstyles and “Victory Rolls” when appropriate.
AND, I love me a mean plate wall.
I don’t know exactly why it is, but I wont question why the look of random table dishes on a wall does something special to my heart.
But it does. ๐Ÿ™‚
It could be the fact that a plate wall takes time to create; an organic project at its finest.
Yes, lets go with that.
I love a continuing project.
That could be why half of our house is unfinished and I barely have time for blog posts.
Anyways, I love the mystery behind each hand selected dish.
The story that goes along with the vintage tray, the china platter and that itty bitty dish I have had since I was a little girl.
Our plate wall is finally complete and I couldn’t be happier.
I am always looking to add character to our newish-builder-grade-15- year-old-home and this project certainly does just that.
I love so much about this little project!!
I love that the plates are all one colour and that the pattern they are placed in isn’t fussy or contrived.
I love that the white plates on cream coloured wall adds a bit of texture to the space without being overpowering.
I love that if I grow tired of this little corner in our home, I will be able to incorporate the white dishes into our collection of party platters that are kept safe in our china cabinet.
And most of all, I love that my husband lets me run wild with projects that he doesn’t love, just to make me happy.

Things are always changing around here, but this plate wall isn’t going anywhere any time soon, if you cant tell, I am in love!
AND, because I love you oh so much, my sweet friends, I also figured you needed a sneak peek of our “new” dining room table.

So, what do you think?
Do you like a plate wall or are you still undecided like my hubby?
I have been inspired by so many plate walls that are out there! ๐Ÿ™‚
If you want to see others that convinced me, check out THIS POST here.
I cant wait to show you HOW to make your very own plate wall next week! Until then, I hope you have a great weekend friends! If you are out and about and you spy a little white plate or two maybe you should snatch them up?? ๐Ÿ˜‰

I would love to hear if you side with me or my main squeeze!
