Weekend in Pictures.

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a relaxing weekend with your families.  As for us, we had the whole weekend as a family, which is so rare with our busy schedules. We had such a relaxing weekend! I wanted to share some snap shots of our weekend; some are from my Instagram account and some are just phone pics. ๐Ÿ™‚

Friday it snowed so much here that all we wanted to do was hibernate.
My daughter made a beautiful picnic for her siblings to enjoy when her brother was done school. She misses him so much and thought this would be a good way to celebrate the weekend. Be still my heart.
As much as it would have been nice just to stay in, we realized we needed some diy products and some groceries, so we ventured out on to the slushy roads.
My sweet girl had this in her little hand and offered to pay. I am certain kids grow up way too fast. ๐Ÿ™

My sister and I decided to catch up that night over an impromptu spread.
She brought a delicious beverage that she swore tasted like cupcakes. Not so much. But it was so nice to catch up, be encouraged, and share ways to love more.
Saturday morning, we stayed in our pajamas until noon and let the kids pull out all of their toys and didn’t even make them clean them up.
Coffee in hand, slippers on, house a mess, that is a happy Saturday.
Dog barking, kids squealing, wrestling and jumping…that is a happy Saturday.
Catching my children acting sweet to each other was just an added bonus to an otherwise perfect leisurely morning.

We threw all three into the tub just in time for my in laws to take the kids to one of their work Christmas parties. The kids wore semi formal attire to an event that was more play then we had anticipated but they had a blast. This meant that hubby and I and baby boy got to start and finish all of our Christmas shopping for the kids.

We rushed to our favourite sushi restaurant before we hit the insane Saturday in December toy store rush!
I cant believe how relaxing it is to shop without tugging hands and little crazies!
This little man wasn’t too please with being surrounded by gifts. Bless his heart.

Yesterday, Sunday, we went to church. Thankfully, we attend a church where there is no set dress code. This means, sparkly shirts are allowed and I had just the one, after my in laws surprised me with a sparkly shopping spree this past week.

I am not going to complain about free glitter.

I  added a conservative black sweater just to be extra safe. ๐Ÿ˜‰
This little lady loves her little red riding hood jacket and looked so cute walking proudly in to church.
I love new friends (who doesnt!?) and recently made a new friend (Sarah!!!) who is also a seasoned amazing blogger!!! She also makes gorgeous jewelry to boot! I loved getting my perfectly wrapped items from her this weekend and cant wait to wear them!
Sundays are usually the only day a week we eat out. We treat ourselves to lunch somewhere, and this time the kids picked a little Chinese buffet that my family has been visiting since I was a little girl.
My fortune cookie told me this truth.

We then left “Daddy” at home to do home repairs (found out our money pit house didn’t have insulated windows on our upstairs level! Which means for 15 years the house has been heating the outdoors every winter!)
To say the least, our house is now a complete disaster with window trim everywhere!

Together with my sister, the kids and I decided that an impromptu photo- scavenger-hunt-adventure was in order to pass the rainy afternoon.

Clothed in warm jackets and water proofed boots we made our way to a  little near by path that curves along with the river — of this little town I love so much.
A wish bone stick.
This was definitely on the imaginary scavenger hunt list.
It is crazy that these trees all had ice on them a day ago. It was almost warm today!

Like every weekend, this one came and went in a flash of flurry. I love capturing it like this , and sharing it with you, because it really helps me reflect on what I loved the most of a weekend with my loved ones.
And you know what??

The best part wasn’t the dinners out, (which are such a splurge for us these days), or the shopping for Christmas gifts — instead, it was taking in these still and beautiful moments in nature with my kiddies.

Breathing in the air that reminds me of spring and not winter.
It was soaking in the moments where the kids weren’t asking “How much longer?” or “Can we go home now?”…and just being really present in the moments that are now.
There is such beauty everywhere around us. All we have to do is look for it!

I hope you got even one moment to enjoy the little things with your family and friends today.

This week, I am so excited to share with you our dining room! I am no designer, and don’t claim to be, but I hope you enjoy the tour I am preparing!

Here is a quick sneak peak..

 See you all soon!!!
I hope this Monday goes easy on you…

Great weekend snaps. I've never been in snow, one day. My weekend consisted of planting summer plants, dead heading roses and convincing my lot we don't need the cooler on. I lost…..never mind. I haven't even started our Chirstmas shopping, eeK !!!
Have a good one. Jojo ๐Ÿ™‚
