Our weekends around here aren’t very glamorous, but they are awesome just the same.
Saturday afternoon the kids and I visited the library for some story time and “puzzle tea time”. My daughter literally went to everyone around and served them a piece of “puzzle pie”.
It was pretty cute, with those crooked pig tails and all.
Then our evening got even MORE glamorous.
We organized my sons room full of toys to accomodate his new bed (future post), made dinner, did some baking (that we will share later this week), and matched a mountain of socks.
Though we may have taken a break or two to play “boat tag” with the laundry baskets a bit.
And then our day really did get awesome…
My hard working man worked 13 hours and we were happy to have him home just in time for snuggles and story time.
After Church on Sunday we went with some of our cousins to our local Conservation Area. They were having an open house to raise money for their new location and ever since our sons reptile party a few weeks ago, the kids have been all about snakes and lizards and everything “screech-worthy”.
My son was in his glory!
My daughter may have inherited my big eyes, but that doesn’t deter her from taking it all in with ease.
These two boys are just gorgeous. And those trees behind them are pretty nice too.
In the summer months, we walked the trails near the lake often. I wish we did it more while the trees are showing off their grand finale before winter comes.
I know, I should wash my mouth out with soap for using the “W” word!
Im sorry.
It might not have been a glamorous weekend but it was our kind of fun.
We rounded off our Sunday with Chinese Cuisine and two trips to Home Depot, one trip to Rona, one trip to Wallmart and another one to Costco.
We are all shopped out.
In fact, I have made a new goal for myself, I am sure it will keep me focused on the umpteen dozen projects I have going on at the homestead.
I am solemnly swearing to stay out of all shopping locations.
With three kids in tow it takes up a lot of time packing them up and traveling to and from. Time that I would rather spend playing with them, walking beautiful trails or finishing projects and tasks that are half completed.
And since I’m basically one more lamp away from being features on the show Hoarders, I pretty much have everything I need for said tasks and projects at home.
So you read it right, this girl is staying away from any shopping location.
Ill keep you updated on how this idea goes.
Cracked this one open today.
I loved it.
And I want to believe that it is true. 🙂

October 16, 2012 at 12:51 amVery true! Some of the best days are spent lounging indoors snuggling loved ones with a stack of books! Though those days are few and far between! Thanks for the visit Jill.
