EIGHT YEARS!!! {We deserve a party for surviving the DIY dust, but until then, this will have to do.xoxo}

 Hubby,

I know how much you love it when I save us money, so today I figured I would save both time and money.

I went against tradition and did not buy the bulk pack of cheap Happy Birthday cards that I would usually purchase. I figured, instead of crossing out the “Happy Birthday” and then writing “Happy Anniversary” in its place, you would be doubly as happy as usual.

I mean, I am listening to you.

Quality over quantity, right??

You always remind me that “every little bit counts” when it comes to saving and so, I figured I would save us those few pennies and spend it on all the meaningless home trinkets you still don’t understand why I buy.
Thank you in advance for turning a blind eye to the milk glass vase I bought instead of your card.

The reasons why I love you multiply every day.

Mostly, I love how today, as we celebrate eight years of marriage together, we can look at each other, while looking past the house full of wicker, milk glass, vintage measuring cups and mason jars you tell me to stop buying, and say that we are happier today then on the day we got married.

It has not always been easy but every day has definitely been worth it. Friendship can be hard, but because we have fought through the difficult times we can also stand together today and say that friendship is one of Gods greatest gifts, and always worth the effort.

I cant believe another year has come and gone. Time truly flies when you are having fun. Another year of side splitting laughter, complaining through life’s daily chores together, a year filled with the sweetest memories and our daily crazy chaos. I will take all the bad, and the crazy if it comes with you.
I love you more today then ever. I love how with every year we grow closer and that there is always more to learn about each other. While I was thinking on how to out do last years post, I found this quote and immediately knew it described “us”. Which was great since I still have to finish watching that HGTV show I taped, quickly do laundry, unload the dishwasher and generally tidy the whole house before you get home from work so you dont think that I do nothing around here.

“Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can
completely turn your world around. You tell them things that you’ve
never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and
actually want to hear more. You share hopes for the future, dreams that
will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many
disappointments life has thrown at you. When something wonderful
happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share
in your excitement. They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you
are hurting or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself. Never do
they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough,
but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that
make you special and even beautiful. There is never any pressure,
jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around.
You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you
because they love you for who you are. The things that seem
insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become
invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever.
Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s
like being young again. Colours seem brighter and more brilliant.
Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or
didn’t exist at all. A phone call or two during the day helps to get you
through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face. In
their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you
find you’re quite content in just having them nearby. Things that never
interested you before become fascinating because you know they are
important to this person who is so special to you. You think of this
person on every occasion and in everything you do. Simple things bring
them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on
the horizon. You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be
broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy
that you never dreamed possible. You find that being vulnerable is the
only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it
scares you. You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and
possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end. Life seems
completely different, exciting and worthwhile. Your only hope and
security is in knowing that they are a part of your life.”

Life is so much better with you as my husband and truest friend.  I feel so blessed to call you mine. The funny guy the sweet guy, the family man and my husband. I cant believe you chose me then, and you choose me every day since.
Happy Eighth Anniversary my love.
