There’s nothing like the smell of an apple pie.
It is a scent that reminds a lot of us of simpler times or one that brings us back to our childhood kitchens. Or sometimes, it’s one reminds us of long anticipated holidays and the baking that accompanied those social times.
This past Christmas, 2020, saw no pies or extravagant meals. So, we were due in this new year of 2021 for a pie to be made. And so we did just that.
My daughter and I made the easiest apple pie ever that we would love to share with you!
Here’s what you’ll need:
6 cups of thinly sliced apples of your choice.
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract OR French vanilla coffee syrup!
1/2 a cup of sugar
3 tablespoons of all purpose flour
Combine all ingredients, mix well, coat apples evenly and transfer to a pie crust of your choosing.
For a fun addition, roll out your dough, cut out tiny leaves and overlap them for a fun crust.
Then bake in your oven for approximately 45 minutes at 350F or until golden brown.
Serve on it’s own or with your fav vanilla ice cream, whip cream or coffee OR all of the above!
