When did this happen??
Oh ya, apparently more than a month ago.
Apparently
this mama has been in denial about my little girl turning the big FOUR.
I figured if the party wasn’t planned then maybe she would stay my baby
girl forever??

Wishful thinking.
My girl requested a princess party this year, a “magical” princess tea party.
I contemplated throwing glitter all over our back yard and calling it fairy dust and hoping that would suffice. But knew that my little girl deserved one day where her feminine side wasn’t being squashed by her brothers, their hockey sticks and their baseball bats.
So, we went ALL out.
With
some contemplation, we decided her birthday party would be called a
“Magical Garden Tea Party” and so we invited all of the little princesses
and princes we knew and adored. We figured a day time party would be the
best fit for our busy summer schedules, so we extended the invite to
all the Queen Mothers as well.

Then, me and my little party planner princess, got right to the decorating. Which of cource is the most fun about any party.
We
started off by lining our long farmhouse table with a strip of paisley
wallpaper in white and the lightest prettiest green.Then we layered a
plethora of flowers all over our treats table, making the milk glass and
the cake platters disappear within the magical table-top garden.

We
made some flower puff balls with tissue paper in our princesses
favorite colors and hung them with pretty green ribbon above the table.

We found some flower decals and thought we would dress up our plate wall making it feel whimsical and unexpected.
And then we picked foods that went with our colour scheme and which were the Party princesses favorites.
Across the front of the treat table we wrote in wooden letters “Happy Birthday Audrey Grace” .
My girl who loves details felt this was the best touch.
We
decided to forgo a traditional birthday cake for lemonade cupcakes;
this way little princesses could handle them with ease and their outfits
wouldn’t end up spoiled.

We kept all of our treats bite size so that we wouldn’t need plates and utensils. 
Instead we got to use these four-year-old-girl-acceptable-substitutes.

It wouldn’t be a party without candy, so my girl picked out her favorites again to share with her friends.
And it certainly wouldn’t be a mom approved party if there wasn’t a healthier option for the little Royals.

We made the treat table at a level where the kids could reach and help themselves.
Then, with a simple bed skirt, turned gigantic table cloth, we converted our kitchen island into a drink station.
The
Queens were offered Sangria, better known as “Queen Punch” and the
littles were offered a fruit punch known as “Princess Punch”.

With a toast to the birthday girl our Magical Garden Tea Party was a success!
We filled our play date party with crafts and a game of “pin the crown on the princess.”
Kids took home personalized jewelery, decorated crowns and pretty book marks for their fairy tale books.
Before
my Princess opened makeup, and all things girlie from her sweet
friends, we ordered pizza and enjoyed the food and sticky fingers
alfresco.

Clearly, no party would be the same without the special ones that filled the guest list.
The ones that make events happier and fill day to day living with love and friendship.
Such sweet people to make a sweet little girls dream of a magical princess party come to life.
You have made all my dreams of days filled with glitter, pink, giggles, girlie fun and Princess parties a reality.
We are so blessed to celebrate you and the little lovely lady that you are.
