6 In Life/ Marriage

Seven Years Later!!

Today may just be another Tuesday to some of you.
But to ME today represents seven years of promises kept and memories made.
Today we are celebrating the love and life we have built together.

I can still recall the first time I saw his face. It was as if I had met him before. I seemed to know the sound of his voice before he opened his mouth and we were immediately inseparable.
It is so true that love finds you when you are not looking.
He was the best surprise.

This was literally the first day we met. I can’t believe it.
(Why are there smashed tarantulas on my eyes lashes? Don’t even mention the gold hair…or the many hair colour changes you are about to witness. Please be kind.)

Regardless, you thought I was a fine catch and kept driving an hour to make weekly visits.

 I was a smitten kitten.

You soon came for a family dinner

and didn’t run away.

And so naturally, I pretended to love football..

And you pretended to enjoy posing for self portraits…

and we wooed each other.

When you asked me to marry you I was shocked since you were accustomed to acting coy about that subject…and me ๐Ÿ˜‰

I couldn’t wait to spend a life time having your arm around me and feeling safe in your presence.

You accepted me and my giant student loan and all of my hangups.
Thank you.
I love that you keep me guessing laughing and loving.

We had a whirl wind romance and wanted nothing more then to start our lives together.

I wanted to love you when you were old,
and to count the wrinkles around your eyes…

So one day, after a mere four month engagement…

We did this.

And had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. ๐Ÿ˜‰

We went on our first and last trip alone together ๐Ÿ™‚

Because, four months later,… our love grew.
We were ecstatic, scared and blessed.

We again had no idea what we were getting ourselves into.

But the truth is:

YOU surpass my hopes and dreams of what a Father to my babies would be like.
You are the best Daddy and I am overly blessed to parent with you!

I love this sharing-a-bed-every-night-with-babies-losing-sleep-chaos-filled-love-driven-life we have built.

And again…

Two babies?
You kept smiling and being the man that I needed.

Three babies??
Yes, please.
You kept smiling through the ups and the downs.
And the dirty diapers and house projects.

There is no one else I would want to share these memories with… and the sleepless nights too.
I love sharing all of this with you.

In fact, I love sooooo much about you…

I love that seven years ago we could be embarrassingly silly…

(Sorry for posting these…and to you too Mom)

๏ปฟ
Today we can still laugh at ourselves…

So true..

I love that you serve your family by working on our house after being at work all day.
I love that you get our kids involved and are so patient while teaching them.
You show by example how to be an extra ordinary father and I am still amazed at times that you chose me!

I love that our children think you are the strongest man on earth and that you can fix anything.
I agree.

I love that you are constantly present and attentive…

I love that you are crazy and lovable all in one.
And that you don’t care too much about what other people think of you. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I love that you are such a provider and selfless.
I love that you spend all of your time helping others.

I love the way you hold our babies when they are sleeping and sick and cranky and calling out for you in the middle of the night.
Even if that means you get two hours sleep.

I love that our love for eachother grows stronger with every passing year and that we are just like our wedding song: unbreakable.

Thank you for being the man you promised to be in your vows seven years ago today.
You continually choose the more difficult road to walk, but one that you will leave lasting foot prints on.
You are more than just my husband who I love and appreciate more with every passing day, but you are the man I always hoped I would find but never dreamed I deserved.
Thank you for unexpectedly walking into my life and working at becoming the friend I always needed.

I want to spend 77 more years loving you.

You are the best example of a husband.
I get giddy every year around this time, knowing I have you all to myself.
Forever.

 Happy Anniversary.
Thank you for choosing this path with me.
